Ramadan Long Weekend Getaway
Located just less than 3.5 hours from the UAE, Lebanon has much to offer - from cedar encrusted mountains, thriving nightlife, a vibrant café culture and plenty of history – there is something for everyone to enjoy and explore. The average temperature in May is 25C (77F) and although this trip is during Ramadan, food and drink are available throughout the day - bars and clubs also remain open.
Day 1- Wed 23 May – Outward bound
After work, travel from either Abu Dhabi or Dubai airport on the evening flight to Beirut. Transfer to the 4* hotel and retire for the evening.
Day 2 - Thurs 24 May – Historical Lebanon - Tripoli + Byblos
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Tripoli- capital of the North and home to the largest Crusader castle in Lebanon. Our guide will lead us on a private walking tour to discover the vibrant souks, hidden Hammams, majestic Mosques, colorful khans and stylish Madrassas (Coranic schools). For lunch, we will taste delicious traditional Tripolitan specialties at a local restaurant.
In the late afternoon we will visit one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Byblos (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Enjoy free time in this medieval city which lies on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and is known for its 12th century citadel, beach and lively town square filled with cafes and restaurants. Enjoy the sunset overlooking the marina before being transported back to Beirut.
Day 3 - Fri 25 May – The Great Outdoors - Winery + Picnic
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and a relaxing morning. You may use this free time to enjoy a wonder around the city in search of the best café, most vibrant street art or meander along the corniche.
Transfer from the hotel to the famous Raouche or Pigeons’ Rock and take some photos before continuing on to a winery in the Bekaa Valley. Learn about how wines are made and sample some before moving to enjoy an outdoor picnic lunch at a nearby lake.
In the late afternoon, transfer back to Beirut and freshen up for our group dinner of authentic Lebanese cuisine. There is the option to enjoy Beirut’s legendary nightlife after dinner.
(Breakfast, Picnic Lunch and Dinner included)
